We think there are entities in America that promote Communist ideals. We call them 'Bureaus'. In 2006, we started tracking our first Bureau, the American Main Stream Media (MSM). More Bureaus will follow.
We think the American Democratic Party has surrendered to a new constituency: a collection of fractured, leftist groups. We believe America would resemble the former Soviet Union (pre-Gorbachev) if each of these groups achieved their goals.
We think the labels "Liberal", "Progressive" and "Communist" are synonymous. We agree this ideology is always well-meaning, but in the end always leads to the loss of freedom. We think this ideology turns a blind eye to evil. We think those who act on these impulses ignore the lessons of history. We think 100 million dead in the past century is enough.

We think Communist thought and the spread of liberalism are in decline despite the Democrat wins in 2008. Ushanka.us was built to track this decline, and have a few laughs along the way.
We think the Ushanka is a handsome hat. For us, it symbolizes those we mock.
